LISTEN

 I. Listen (Genesis 2:16, 17)

One of the greatest challenges we face daily as men is listening to each other well enough to help each other better. The emphasis on this topic is that God showed the importance of listening by speaking to Adam and Adam listened to God’s instructions. It is important for us to listen to God and each other as men to work together with each other to accomplish our common goals. In this discussion we will also talk about the Walls/Challenges, like pride and jealousy, that keeps us from being the best listeners we can be. We will also talk about the solutions that will help us be the best listeners we can be, so we can do what God has designed us to do and that is to live at peace with everyone, if possible. (Rom 12:18)

We will conclude this discussion with a recap of why God showed the importance of listening to each other, identifying and eliminating the walls/challenges that keeps us from being a better listener, and work on a continuous plan on how we can be the best listeners we can be for God and the people around us. It is harder for us to move forward when we do not listen.

LOVE

II. LOVE (1 Corinthians 13:8)

So how do you respond to another man when he genuinely tells you “I love you?”Another challenge that men face is how we respond, receive, and give love to one another. The focus on this topic is understanding how God showed love to Adam by telling Adam what to do and what not to do to stay in good standings with Him, (Genesis 2: 16, 17).

We will also talk about the importance of the diverse types of love, like Storge(familiar)love, Phileo (brotherly) love, and the most important love, Agape (unconditional) love that surrounds us every day. Important discussions on how love affects us positively and the lack of love and how it affects us negatively. For us to love one another (John 13:34-35) the way God has designed us to, we must talk about what are the things that are keeping us from loving each other, as men. We must talk about the Walls/Challenges, stereotypes and society’s influence, that we need to eliminate. Then we need to implement the right solutions.

We will conclude this discussion with a recap of why God showed the importance of loving each other, identifying and eliminating the walls/challenges that keeps us from loving each other as men better, work on a continuous plan on how we empower each other with Godly love, and how we can be the best we can be for God and the people around us

CONNECTION

 III. CONNECTION (Matthew 6:33)

What or who are you connected to the most?

The emphasis on this topic is that God showed the importance of us being connected to Him first (Matthew 6:33) and then each other. When God breathed the breath of life into man and made him a living being, that act showed the importance of connecting and a connection (Genesis 2:7). It is important for us to connect to God first, then connect to each other as men to accomplish our common goals.

In this discussion we will also talk about the Walls/Challenges, like hatred and age differences, that keeps us from connecting to each other. We will also talk about the solutions, like being more empathetic and showing more compassion to help connect better. This will help us see more value in connecting to each other for all the right reasons. When we realize the importance of connecting, we can do what God has designed us to do and that is to care for one another more often (Galatians 6:2).
